The Byrna SD defensive pistol was developed on the existing basis of the Byrna HD model, which is now used by hundreds of police and security units around the world.

The choice of the Byrna by these professionals was driven by its ability to stop one or more individuals using chemical projectiles, whereas the hard, plastic or rubber projectiles of other types of launcher hurt, but above all, increased the aggressiveness of the assailants without stopping them.

Building on its success with professionals, the new version of the SD now features a new grip design, new sights and an optimised trigger tail.

Fuelled by an 8g CO2 cartridge, the Byrna SD fires .68 calibre chemical irritant/incapacitating projectiles developed to slow down or neutralise a threat up to 60 feet away, but can also fire Kinetic (Hard Polymer) or Eco-Kinetic projectiles for training or defence purposes.

The 8g CO2 cartridge can fire 4 magazines of 5 rounds each.

The Byrna SD is an incredibly powerful and effective defensive weapon with reduced lethality.
