Thunderballs are designed primarily for target shooting and tactical training. They were developed at the express request of the police. They are the ecological equivalent of rubber bullets and plastic projectiles. They have the same advantages as rubber bullets, but they do not bounce off hard targets and leave no marks. 

They are brittle projectiles that mark a target while breaking on impact. They are specially designed for CO2 or HPA paintball markers such as RAM and T4E pistols and rifles.

The Thunderball is a solid spherical projectile. It is hard enough to be loaded and fired with minimal risk of jamming in a magazine or breech. Another advantage of its solid construction is its accuracy compared with paint- or powder-filled projectiles.

Unlike any other solid projectile, the Thunderball is brittle and can shatter on impact. It explodes into powder, not hard or sharp fragments, and there are no bouncing or ricocheting projectiles.

It can be used safely indoors and at short range.
